Last week, our professor in Principles of Marketing invited us to attend this seminar in our school called Brands and Opportunities: Let's Franchise! IT would gather a lot of different facts and figures on how to develop a franchise business.
I was kinda hesitant when the day of the seminar came..
TODAY na yun...
I was planning to missed the class sana kasi hindi ko pa natutubos yung ID ko sa LRC (Learning Resource Center) and that was last week pa...
I have an overdue fine of Php160.00...
I thought it would be easy for me to decide whether to go to school or not to na lang...
But I thought the seminar would give me a lot of information about my course...
I'm into marketing anyway...
So I go pa rin... Sa school din naman yung seminar eh... Theater...
I was looking for my classmates in Prinmar when I got to the entrance of the theater...
Anyway, natubos ko na yung ID ko and I've got no money na left in my pocket but my pamasahe pauwi...
Then I saw Stanley...
Oh come on... Where is Takoy kaya?
He told me that he'll call me para sabay kaming pumunta ng theater but the cellphone I am using this past few days we're eventually...not mine...Hehehe...
HIram ko lang poh iyon sa aking tita and she take it back na!!!
Waaahhhhhh...
Okei lang...
NOw, back to the theater where Stanley is looking for the paper that we'll gonna sign up serves as the attendance for the Prinmar class...
He was lost...Always...
Well, to give you a picture of his image...He was like a nerdy guy who wears an eyeglass but not so typical nerdy guy who have npo friends at all...
He had a lot!!!
Now, let's go back to the seminar anyway..
Pumasok na kami ni Stanley since wala na naman akong ibang makitang kaklase naming iba, we decided or I should say, I decided to go with him na lang...
We were ushered at the front seat...
What...VIP? I don't think so..
They just want to let the first come first seat basis thing siguro...(Was there a thing like that?)
The program started at ...I have no watch to know what is the time anyway...
I thought I was gonna witnessed the program right before my very eyes pero hindi pala...
They seggregate the courses that was present at that time...
Export Mgt...
Human Resources...
COmputer Application...
INfo Mgt....
BlahBlahBlah...
Did he mention Marketing Mgt?...
Oh no... Not that I demanded but...Nothing to say anymore...
I got myself at the back and find seat there. I left Stanley at the front becoz he was amazingly EXPORT MGT. student... I also saw Marco, one of my classmate too...Again an EXPORT MGT. student...
Lucky me!!! I've got privacy!!!
I made myself comfortable backseat...
Then the program begun. The traditional way. You know it na... Ang magtanong may tadyak...
It was not a spontaneous talk show per se. I was just watching a conversation between 5 individuals talking, answering and reacting to one question Ms. Jenny Saraza is asking. Yes Ms. Jenny, not her co-host (which happens to be Benildean, 3rd year EM student) what's the name again? Philip.
The guests: Plains and Prints apparell vice-president(na nakalagay sa invitation ay president) Ms. RoxanneFariles, Ultimate Burgers, Inc. president and the owner of Hotshots Hamburger, Mr. John Decena, and finally the president of the Philippines Franchise Association, Ms. Alegria "Bing" Limjoco.
Do not ask me na kung ano ang mga pinagusapan nila basta ang masasabi ko lang...
NO. The conversation was informational and hindi iilang beses na napatango ako sa mga sinasabi nila. I know the facts they were saying and perhaps, it can be both relative and benificial to my course. But the thing for me is that, it can be tackled inside the class room discussion and probably our professor could've made us extra recitation grades for a possible interaction regarding the topic. The atmosphere of an interaction there was quiet amusing and irritating. Not so very participative...
And maybe, inspired by President Arroyo, the PFA president present a powerpoint presentation regarding the franchise industry here and abroad and yes, it's quiet inspiring that this industry is boosting our countries pride among other Asian countries.
Products like Jolibee, Bench, Netopia, Island Souvenirs, were featured as one of the major generating franchise business here and outside Philippines among other local products and services.
The consolation there was the inspiring stories of the two entrepreneurs on the stage who shares their experiences when they coping up early period of their certain businesses.
Only, I was so sleepy and got irritated by the people behind my back. So noisy...
It ended consuming 3 hours...
